Since their inception in 2001, Tub Ring has been a force of nature in the world of left-of-center music. Consistently regarded as unpredictable and errant when it comes to the music they create, their albums showcase their musical makeup as a tornado of genres, mixing punk, classical, surf, a-capella, hard-core, pop, and whatever else crosses their path into one cohesive blend of rock.
Tub Ring’s fourth studio album, The Great Filter, was released this summer on The End Records. Keyboardist Rob Kleiner comments, “There were over 30 songs written for this album, but we’re only going to put the most important 13 on the record. It’s going to be just as eclectic as ever, with a thick and layered production.”
Performing over 100 shows internationally every year, they have toured with bands such as Mindless Self Indulgence, Dog Fashion Disco, Sleepy Time Gorilla Museum and Clutch. Their shows have become infamous for their sweaty, bloody, chaotic frenzy and whirlwind-like energy – a bombastic, all-out attack on the senses.
