===>>>Fred Ho, Fred Ho, Fred Ho! After a successful two year battle against cancer, we are extremely proud and ecstatic that Fred is standing strong and performing again. He opened the American Composer's Orchestra 32nd season with the world premiere of his When the Real Dragons Fly! at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall and at the Annenburg Center in Philadelphia. The New York Times reviewed his performance and said, "Mr. Ho, who recently fought off cancer, looked healthy and played with abundant energy. In his brawny solos he testified and roared with unbridled passion, and the orchestra served as an exuberant congregation."
He also recently performed at the Black Cultural Center at Purdue University and to a standing room only crowd at the BAM Cafe in NYC.
Fred is currently an Interdisciplinary Artist-In-Residence at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and will be performing a special performance with both students and his Afro-Asian Music Ensemble on Sat, Nov. 22nd. Please visit this link to read more about the program.
His critically acclaimed book Afro Asia: Revolutionary Politcal & Cultural Connections Between African Americans & Asian Americans is out on Duke University Press and available here. Here is what Publishers Weekly had to say about it:
